This large New York law firm opened with a labor and leveraged-leasing practice and quickly built a substantial corporate and litigation practice. Today the office is organized into the following practice groups: Business and Finance, Litigation, Labor and Employment Law, Environmental, Intellectual Property, Taxation, Personal Law, Antitrust, and Trade Regulation. Unlike many other national firms with local offices, the New York office has an independent practice base generated by its attorneys. The New York-based attorneys spend substantially all of their time working on behalf of clients of the New York office. The work environment is fairly casual and conservative, but the attorneys are rewarded with competitive salaries.
Philadelphia office looks for an applications programming manager with 5+ years of experience in full life cycle application development technologies including Object Oriented Programming, (OOP), COM and VB; 5+ years of web development experience including ASP, CSS, HTML, DHTML, Jscript and VBScript languages; 2+ years of developing Microsoft .NET using C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET. The candidate will provide design and development services related to administration applications as well as specialized legal applications required by the firms practice groups. Insure all elements of application development, including proposal preparation and presentation, resource management, coding, delivery management and client satisfaction. Reports to the director of enterprise business applications within corporate IT. Support integration and automation of business processes; manage the design, development and support of the firms Microsoft .NET initiatives; supervise six plus staff developers and workflow programmers; define application best coding practices and standards; conduct hiring interviews and performance evaluations; documentation of business application requirements; negotiate project requirements and delivery dates with departmental managers; track, monitor and report status of project deliverables. Will possess the following: BS degree, information systems, computer science or equivalent; strong XML skills using DTD, XSD and XSLT data definitions; working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint 2007, SQL Server and reporting Services; demonstrated experience developing and mentoring staff developers. Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
