Paralegal The candidate will perform a variety of administrative support duties and deliver high-quality services to internal and external clients, exhibiting a commitment to integrity and excellence. Prioritize, manage, and follow through on multiple projects, and communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally with clients, attorneys, staff, and peers. Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and orders (ranging from simple to complex) and notices such as notices of deposition, notices of appearance, and subpoenas for an appearance at deposition or trial or for documents. Schedule and maintain depositions and other court-imposed deadlines. Perform in-depth legal research - retrieves cases or public record information using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw; internet research; uses locate applicable cases, statutes, court rules, and regulations on specific legal issues. Manage, oversee, and prepare large document productions (several thousand pages). Sort, index, categorize, order, manipulate, and organize the documents/data including summarizing medical records, deposition transcripts, and discovery responses. Act as liaison between clients, experts, vendors, opposing counsel, and other parties in litigation or transaction. File pleadings with courts, through ECF, or conventionally in the county courts. Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests; with motions, retrieving and identifying exhibits, proper citations of exhibits, case law cite checks, etc.; with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials, including preparation of trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition designations, and demonstrative aids. Perform legal investigations consisting of gathering, organizing, and summarizing relevant information. Assist attorneys with case management and analyses of case facts; with voir dire, jury selection, and witnesses preparation. Conduct client and witness interviews and fact identification. The candidate must have a Two or four-year degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program with 3-5 years of experience; strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products; experience reviewing and summarizing medical records; ability to prioritize, organize and manage workload; thorough knowledge of all firm and practice-specific administrative processes and procedures, information technology systems, research tools, and a broad-based understanding of the clients, matters, and associated practices; take the initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done; work collaboratively and cooperatively with others; a high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise good judgment; demonstrate teamwork; detail-oriented skills.
