Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Prepare and process legal documents and papers, such as subpoenas, pleadings, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements. E-filing. Preparation of Immigration forms. Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials. Receive and place telephone calls. Schedule and make appointments. Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter. Organize and maintain law libraries, documents, and case files. Assist attorney in collecting information when needed. Assist client in responding to Discovery. Filing documents at Court house. Perform Secretarial/Administrative duties for Attorney. Complete various forms. Basic computer skills. Order office supplies. In charge of opening new client files and archiving closed client files. Handle outgoing and incoming mail. Receive payments from clients. Qualifications: Bachelors degree, Associates degree or certificate program in paralegal studies. Paralegal certification may be required. Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, and legal terminology. Relevant computer knowledge and experience. Key Competencies. Bilingual A A Spanish/English. Research skills.
