Legal Assistant/IP Paralegal Duties: Editing and formatting complex legal agreements and letters. Drafting professional letters and email correspondence with proper grammar. Scheduling professional meetings and teleconferences in multiple time zones. Booking all aspects of travel. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 4 years. Paralegal or Trademark certificate preferred. 3+ years' paralegal/legal assistant for sophisticated IP or transactional law firm, OR. 3 years as contracts manager in corporate legal department AND executive assistant experience. 3+ years' experience as paralegal, legal assistant or contracts manager for national IP/transactional law firm or corporate legal department. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and law firm file management software. Highly skilled with MS Word, including complex formatting and track changes. Preferred experience: Processing trademark/copyright/publishing industry documents. Conducting legal research (Westlaw or LEXIS) and trademark searches. Evaluating and implementing file management and CRM systems. Coordinating IT contractors as needed to support office network. Designing professional slide decks for presentations. Filing documents with government agencies. Closing corporate transactions/purchase agreements. Administering license agreements. Performing due diligence. Preparing and formatting litigation briefs and tracking discovery. Energized by serving others, in this case attorneys in two offices. Genuine commitment to further the mission of the firm. Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines. Excellent professional judgment. Humility and empathy, relates to our clients. Self-aware, pleasant, mature. Intelligent and willing to learn the practice. Takes initiative to organize office projects and systems. Natural problem solver and able to work under short periods of high stress (a few times a month, as projects/clients require). Willing to do personal errands for employer. Highly professional verbal and written communication skills. Collaborates well with others as a team player.
