This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. The firm represents a wide range of industrial, financial and commercial enterprises, both publicly and privately held. Firm lawyers represent clients in every state as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions. The firm is organized by legal specialization: corporate, e-commerce, employee benefits, estate planning, government and regulatory affairs, health law, intellectual property, international, litigation and tax. Conflicts Attorney The candidate identifies, analyzes, and resolves potential conflicts of interest related to the Firm's new business acquisition and lateral hiring. Ensures new matters and attorney hires are compliant with the Firm's conflicts and risk management policies and procedures. Conduct conflict analysis on new Firm business and lateral hires. Prepare, audit, and present conflict reports to attorneys to resolve issues in a timely manner. Consult with partners, Professional Responsibility Committee, and Information. Governance to create and maintain effective screening restrictions. Review engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines to ensure Firm-wide compliance. Perform legal research, including review of case law and jurisdictional issues related to conflict clearance, lateral hiring, ethical wills, and related issues. The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree (JD) and 3+ years of related work experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) required. Should have knowledge of time entry and conflict of interest databases. Must have familiarity with legal research tools and databases. Should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills. Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities and handle and maintain confidential information. The ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly is required.
