Employment Attorney The candidate will provide succinct legal advice and counseling regarding issues and inquiries pertaining to employment and labor practices and strategies for avoiding liability exposure. Monitor, research, analyze, and interpret relevant state and federal laws and regulations including state labor codes, Title VII, ADA, FLSA, CFRA, & FMLA. Assist clients with investigations, terminations, and disciplinary actions. Review, revise, and draft appropriate workplace policies, procedures, and employee handbooks. Review and analyze clients operations and documents to advise on compliance issues. Draft formal and informal correspondence and memoranda. Maintain direct interaction and effective communication with clients. The candidate should have a J.D. from a top-tier U.S. law school. 3+ years of experience as a transactional attorney at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department. Strong working knowledge of the federal and state labor and employment laws generally, both federal and state, including administrative rules, regulations and policies. Excellent communication, organization, and legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and clearly and professionally communicate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Possess a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Lexis Advance, PACER, and other research tools. Must be a highly detail-oriented, fast-learner and creative problem solver with experience related to labor and employment law.
