Bonus program Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Law Firm - Overland Park Law firm, Evans & Dixon is looking to hire a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join its Johnson County office. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys and other legal counsels. The role requires a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and the capability to manage complex litigation files. Job Requirements: Prepare and review confidentiality agreements with attorney supervision Provide administrative, litigation, and ongoing research support to attorneys Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials by preparing arguments, motions, contracts and agreements Research legal issues, regulations, legal articles, and relevant supporting laws Conduct legal research and draft and drafting as requested File and organize exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel Summarize interrogatories, testimonies, and depositions to aid attorney before and during trial Obtain affidavits and other formal legal documents Complete investigations such as calling clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside parties to schedule interviews, meetings and depositions Maintain all records for each case Review trial transcriptions Perform special tasks as needed Draft correspondence and legal documents Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court Help lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions Skills/Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of Malpractice Defense experience from a law firm Ability to manage cases from inception through trial Ability to keep a Medical recording tracking log and crucial organization skills Experience in product liability and (or) wrongful death is a plus Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure and prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates Understanding and maintenance of complex litigation Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel and general proficiency and ability to learn various software applications Compensation: Law firm, Evans & Dixon offers a generous benefits package along with compensation based on experience level and client orientation, including: Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account Flexible Spending Accounts (Medical, Dependent, and Parking & Transit) Life, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance Benefits 401(k) and Profit Sharing Paid Maternity Leave Wellness Program Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid Personal Time Off (PTO) and Holidays Seminar and CLE Expenses Bonus program Salary: $40,000 - $50,000/Hourly ## Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Law Firm - Overland Park Law firm, Evans & Dixon is looking to hire a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join its Johnson County office.
