# Workers Compensation Attorney at The Matian Firm, APC We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Associate Workers Compensation Attorney to join our premier law firm in the Los Angeles Area. This is an opportunity for someone to gain valuable experience and further their career with an established firm. As the Associate Workers Compensation Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney and manage your caseload, as well as client interaction, while collaborating with our Workers Compensation team. ## Responsibilities - Manage workers compensation claims from their inception to final resolution, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. - Representing the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings. - Supporting clients by providing them with legal advice to determine whether to go to court. - Engaging in negotiations with opposing council in order to achieve maximum settlement. - Ensuring clients receive funds as a result of a judgement or settlement. - Taking depositions of witnesses, requesting medical records, writing petitions, motions, and responses to insurance companies. - Drafting, filing and arguing appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients. - Research, develop and implement workers compensation law-related compliance procedures and best practices. - Remain current with developments in the workers compensation area of law. - Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel with professional diplomacy and discretion. ## Qualifications - Four-year bachelor's degree, along with a three-year law degree from an accredited law school - At least 3 years of experience as an attorney within Workers Compensation Law OR Personal Injury Law - Excellent relationship building, process improvement, and communication skills are required - Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required - Experience with Case Management Software required - Active member of the CA state bar and local bar associations - Excellent decision-making, public speaking, and supervisory experience are highly preferred - A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with your fellow associates ## Benefits At the Matian Firm, APC, we offer competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent compensation package, paid parking, paid time off, and more! ## Equal Employment Opportunity The Matian Firm, APC is an equal employment opportunity employer, and we welcome everyone regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or genetics.
