Litigation Paralegal Duties: Responsible for functions related to all areas of litigation with an emphasis on client satisfaction, speed and thoroughness. Review new cases within 24 hours, establish contact and maintain a working relationship with clients via telephone/email/client meetings. Ensure clients are receiving the proper medical care for their injuries. Follow cases closely to ensure receipt of all pertinent documentation at the appropriate time for demand preparation. Communicate timely with insurance adjusters via demand packages and negotiation follow-up with Attorney. Timely complete settlement procedures with clients. Timely complete medical bill reductions to maximize client satisfaction via higher amounts due to those clients. Timely close client trust accounts after all outstanding medical bills are paid. Timely close out unprofitable files. Track/complete relevant checklist items. Develop case strategies with case managers and attorneys. Create, maintain, transfer and dispose of client files. Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery and demands. Track service on defendants, reissue service until it is perfected, mark service complete date in Needles. Responsible for tracking statutes for designated case managers.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous paralegal experience required. Knowledge of Needles software a plus. Must have and demonstrate an understanding of acceptable professional etiquette. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite products. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to think quickly and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
