Plaintiffs Workers' Compensation Litigation Paralegal The candidate will possess the following skills: Paralegal Certification is preferred. Experience as plaintiffs litigation paralegal (experience in workers compensation is a plus). Understanding of court rules, legal procedures, pertinent statutes and litigation deadlines. Time management, including ability to effectively prioritize work and multi-task (consistently track your time and tasks). Ability to prioritize workload and do whatever necessary to meet firm deadlines in a fast-paced environment (average caseload 50-60, but can be more or less). Ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Draft correspondence, pleadings (complaints, motions, proposed orders, etc.), respond to discovery, etc. Coordinate all depositions and mediation conferences with court reporter, mediator and opposing counsel. Prepare for trial including marking exhibits, indexing and bates stamping, if necessary. Ability to file documents with the courts, including electronically. Analytical, effective trouble-shooter. Ability to interact with clients/medical providers/insurance companies/opposing counsels/court personnel, etc. in a positive and professional manner. Ability to request medical records and bills, including follow-up until received. Ability to read medical records and summarize and prepare a medical bill summary. Ability to work with and coordinate tasks with other firm members. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Sheets, Outlook, Dropbox (experience using Clio is a plus). Punctual and dependable. Team player. Attention to detail highly organized.
