Legal Secretary Litigation The candidate will join firm specializes in Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation. Will greet clients and visitors when they arrive at the office and determine the reason for their visit. Answer phone calls and respond to general emails. Gather and research for cases, including client employment, financial and medical records, and other legal documentation. Find pertinent laws and court decisions in legal publications and databases that pertain to current cases. Draw up legal documents such as appeals, complaints, discovery requests, motions, pretrial agreements, subpoenas, and summonses. Take notes at meetings, client interviews, depositions, and hearings. Handle incoming and outgoing mail. Schedule meetings and appointments. Maintain organized files, including copies of all documents and correspondence. Manage invoices and expenditures. Must be familiar with Legal Solutions, Word, Abacus, all Court Portals, both State and Federal. Familiarity with handling discovery responses, motions and pre trial preparation required. Excellent phone skills and communication with clients is a priority. Bi-lingual preferred. Must have High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or vocational training in business administration, criminal justice administration, legal administration, or related field preferred. Should have 3+ years of administrative experience in the legal field. Must have record of ethical conduct and ensuring client confidentiality. Should have excellent research, communication, and organizational skills. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and legal software.
