Part-time Paralegal: Intellectual Property The candidate will assist with a wide variety of matters in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Draft and file pleadings. Assist with hearing and trial preparation. Assist with legal research. Capture and record time on a daily basis (familiarity with Aderant Expert is a plus). Gather and summarize information for attorneys and clients. Properly maintain and organize matter file in document management system (FileSite/iManage). Communicate with co-counsel, clients, opposing legal counsel, and Court Chambers as necessary.
The candidate must have 2+ years litigation experience as either a legal assistant and/or paralegal. Must be well versed in the local court procedures as well as e-filing processes and requirements for CM/ECF used in the federal courts. Must possess strong word processing skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft 2016 products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Should be a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter who has excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrates proficient word processing skills. Familiarity with FileSite/iManage or similar document management system. Must be detail-oriented self-starter who can accurately manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Must have ability to exercise initiative & good judgement to work independently as appropriate & as a member of a team. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills & ability to interact with a diverse group of attorneys & staff in person or by email/telephone. Must be detail-oriented & possess excellent communication (written & oral) skills. Should have excellent at organizing/prioritizing numerous projects/tasks simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.
