Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be reviewing, drafting, filing, and scanning legal documents and correspondence. Preparing, organizing, storing, and retrieving case files. Gathering and analyzing client intake information and documentation such as medical records, bills, liens, etc. Assembling demand and settlement packets. Frequent communication with attorneys and clients. Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements. Preparation of materials for hearings, depositions, meditations, and trials. Communicate courteously and effectively with insurance adjusters, court staff, medical personnel and other professionals. Perform office administrative tasks and manage attorney's calendar. Provide excellent customer service and client contact. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Adobe and Google Drive. Experience with online technology/software, specifically case management software. Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic and able to perform under pressure. E-file experience preferred. At least three (3) years of experience in the field as a paralegal or as a legal assistant is preferred. At a minimum, must possess an Associate's degree. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License in good standing. Must complete a criminal background check. Must have prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant providing support to attorneys in the areas of personal injury, workers' compensation, civil litigation, and criminal defense. To be successful, candidates must be able to multi-task and pay close attention to details while managing a heavy case load. In addition, candidates must be highly self-motivated, organized, and self-starters able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
