Paralegal - Family Law/Litigation Responsibilities: Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents including discovery, responses to discovery, ex parte applications, briefs, pleadings, appeals, family law financial disclosures, Petition, Summons and Requests for Order. High-volume document intake, scanning, labeling, organization and production including Bates stamping and creating and maintaining discovery indexes. Legal and investigative research such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treatises, internet searches, public person profiles and property records including deed and title records. Review, organize and analyze bank and financial records and create Excel spreadsheets at direction of attorneys. Assist in preparation for depositions and trials, including preparing deposition notices, exhibits, witness lists, expert designations and witness and exhibit binders. Coordinate service of process. Draft subpoenas and notice to consumer and coordinate follow up re subpoena production. Requirements: Certified paralegal. 5+ years' experience as a paralegal. Trial and deposition preparation skills and experience. Knowledge and experience with family law software including DissoMaster and Propertizer preferred. Knowledge and experience with family law litigation procedure and forms preferred. Interact with attorneys and secretaries. Must be extremely reliable, trustworthy, and discreet. Proofreading skills. Excellent and sophisticated written and verbal communication skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Legal Solutions software. Extremely detail oriented, strong organizational and follow-up skills. Tech and computer savvy. Excellent internet/Lexis Nexis research skills. Work both independently and as a cooperative team member. Familiarity with rules of Court and Code of Civil Procedure as it relates to discovery and trial preparation.
