The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager The candidate will coordinate and actively manage the day-to-day recruiting efforts for lateral attorney hires, with a specific focus on partner recruiting. Will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, including attorneys, staff, candidates and search consultants. Research potential candidates, prescreen resumes, schedule interviews, collect evaluation feedback, manage due diligence process and coordinate travel arrangements as needed. Work with two Recruiting Directors and Senior Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager to implement strategic recruiting goals, including diversity goals supporting the firm's objectives. Meet and greet candidates, as well as monitor local interview schedules. Oversee approval process for new hire requests, job descriptions, and the posting/advertisement process. Create and review offer letters and proposal packages for new hires. Co-manage lateral recruiting support staff and provide back-up support for team members and other offices as needed. Update and maintain recruiting database and candidate e-files. Track budget expenses and maintain cost control measures; assist in the preparation of the annual budget process; and seek out creative, cost-effective search strategies. Perform other tasks as assigned. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of recruiting experience, particularly related to lateral partner recruiting, and 3+ years of management experience in a recruiting position. Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to recruiting is required. Must be extremely responsive to both internal and external clients. Should have strong interpersonal, detail-oriented and organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple, diverse projects concurrently. Must have flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed.
