Associate Attorney - Police Civil Liability Responsibilities: Case handling, including analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies through all states of litigation. Proactive client communications, including providing liability coverage analyses to clients. Represent clients at litigation proceedings, including at hearings, motions, depositions and mediations. Research and draft case materials, including pleadings, motions and other litigation documents. Investigate liability claims, including researching and evaluating claims, providing recommendations, and developing litigation strategies. Try cases, including learning from the firm's ABOTA trial attorneys. Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school and current good standing with the California State Bar. 3+ years of state and federal court experience. Governmental experience preferred. Trial experience is a plus. Proven work experience in government liability, with police civil liability preferred. Demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, deposing and handling cases. Demonstrable experience with law and motion, including drafting, filing and presenting motion arguments. Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication and case analysis abilities. Embodies core values of leadership, hard work and integrity. Up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in civil liability, including knowledge of current state and federal police civil liability laws.
