Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist the General Litigation Department, which includes our SF office, in all aspects of litigation. Prepare subpoenas, CMC statements, discovery, pleadings, and other legal documents. Analyze and summarize discovery documents, including, but not limited to, depositions transcripts and medical records. Billing time entry. Assist with all aspects of trial preparation, including coordination with expert witnesses. Communicate with clients and retain expert witnesses. Manage case documents and document productions. Research various legal and factual issues using Westlaw and other databases. Work closely with attorneys to resolve a variety of day-to-day issues. Must have a Paralegal Certificate. 3-5 years of litigation experience as a paralegal with a busy litigation practice. Full understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial and appellate procedures. Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Experience with document management systems, iManage/FileSite a plus. Proficiency in CompuLaw calendaring system. Must have excellent word processing skills and be comfortable using the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel and Outlook. They will also be familiar with and comfortable using the usual array of law office software: iManage/Filesite, E-Filing and Westlaw. The ideal candidate will possess advanced litigation support skills and can proactively and independently manage assignments. Excellent judgment, attention to detail, organizational and teamwork skills are also critical to be successful in this key role.
