Workers Compensation Associate Attorney Responsibilities: Case handling, including analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies through all states of litigation. Proactive client communications, including providing claim analyses to client. Represent clients at WCAB, including expedited hearings, trials and status conferences. Represent clients at litigation proceedings, including at hearings, depositions and site inspections. Manage external relationships, including working with third-party administrators, adjusters, insurers and employers. Research and draft case materials, including settlements, pleadings, motions and other litigation documents. Investigate workers compensation claims, including researching and evaluating claims and providing recommendations. Opportunity to try cases, including learning from the firm's ABOTA trial attorneys. Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school and current good standing with the California State Bar. 2+ years of workers compensation experience. Trial experience is a plus. Knowledge of current works compensation case law and labor code. Proven work experience in workers compensation and appearing before the WCAB. Demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, deposing, and handling cases. Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication, relationship management and case analysis abilities.
