Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for explaining the litigation process to clients, giving clients consistent updates on their case, prepping clients for their depositions, being present at mediations if an interpreter is necessary, communicating with defense counsel, etc. Candidate will work within the various aspects of litigation, including propounding and responding to discovery, responding to deposition subpoenas, filing documents with the court and calendaring. Duties will also include helping to draft, type, format and proof-read legal documents and correspondence. The candidate should have background knowledge of the litigation process, possess a valid driver's license, have their own transportation, and be willing to travel on occasion to court hearings. Must have 3 years of Paralegal experience. Other requirements include a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Word Perfect with a typing speed of at least 65 wpm. Excellent organizational skills and time management is a must. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Must be bilingual in Spanish, as they will be working as an Interpreter for the Attorney/Litigation Secretary. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, are team players with a service attitude, and have a superior ability to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, staff and the general public. Required language: Spanish.
