This large international boutique firm has more than 900 lawyers in 16 different locations. It counsels clients on all aspects of global business, technology transactions, and intellectual property protection. With associates practicing more than 30 practice areas, clients are kept pretty well satisfied. While the Connecticut office may not be the largest, compensation and billable hours requirements are at market level for firms of the same size. This can be a big advantage for the smaller satellite offices.
Washington D.C. office seeks a technical support analyst with 3+ years of law office experience using computers and legal applications including comprehensive knowledge of DOS, word processing and spreadsheets to provide technical and user support. The candidate will serve as user support specialist for the firm's DC office; and must be willing to work in the neighboring Northern Virginia office for short periods as the need arises. Will assist with occasional one-on-one member training; serve as team contact and solution provider for members in the DC Office; initiate, complete and follow-through with all assigned and self-generated Remedy tickets. Other responsibilities include assisting with maintaining hardware inventory for the DC Office, building firm standard PCs and laptops, maintaining and tracking loaner laptops, assisting with maintaining printer maintenance records and inventory, maintaining Blackberry order database and providing Blackberry technical support including server-side device setup. Will assist other team members with processing and maintaining local data backup routines, maintain established tape rotation and perform data restores as necessary. Install and beta test new technology, perform software installations and other tasks as requested by the Local IT Manager or supervisor In rotation with other local IT staff, serve as 24/7 on-call emergency specialist. Should have the understanding and hands-on experience with audiovisual set ups including laptop/projector connectivity, video/teleconferencing setups and plasma TVs. Should have hands-on experience with Wi-Fi including laptop cards and external hot spots. An understanding of personal computers and associated hardware is required. Overtime and/or shifts on weekends or corporate holidays will be required. Must also be willing to work in any office in the region as necessary to augment staffing for specific projects.
