Washington, D.C. office seeks a human resources manager with 5+ years of human resources and recruiting experience. The candidate assists Director of Human Resources in the management of various human resources functions including organizational structure, operational compensation, performance management, policy administration, employee relations and recruitment. Works closely with other HR Managers to ensure consistent and seamless delivery of HR services firm-wide. Assists with supporting client service by actively participating in the firm's servicematters initiative. Ensures that staff members are providing quality service to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors by displaying professionalism via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person. Provides strategic and consultative assistance to administrative department leaders for effective development and execution of HR and other business objectives; identifies and staffs HR Generalist and Specialist support to assist in the execution of departmental strategic plans. Manages HR Generalists, Recruiters, Coordinators and Assistants including providing leadership, mentoring, timely and constructive performance feedback, training and professional development. Provides leadership to HR Generalists and firm leaders to and effectively resolve employee relations issues; ensures consistent administration of approaches and resolutions for related matters; leads formal complaint investigations; keeps HR Director fully and routinely apprised of status of all employee relations matters. Provides leadership and guidance to HR Generalists and department leaders through the administration of the performance evaluation and objective setting process for staff. Manages salary and performance evaluation process ensuring effective execution of tasks associated with the exempt and non-exempt staff cycles. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; manages preparation and maintenance of employee policy and practice handbook; ensures HR support for managers and employees is provided to assist with interpretation and communication of firm policies and procedures to staff. Evaluates and documents performance and disciplinary issues and takes appropriate action. Manages the staff termination process, including utilizing CHRO, HR Director and/or internal labor counsel as necessary. Conducts employee involuntary terminations. Assists in the management of recruiting function for staff positions; ensures consistency in local office application of all aspects of the staff recruiting process including identification of sources, screening of resumes, interviewing, testing/reference and background checking and final offer. Develops processes and approaches in alignment with and to support HR department established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency of department. Ensures consistent application of HR procedures and practices throughout U.S. offices. Evaluates and ensures effectiveness of onboarding and training program for new staff; supervises HR Assistants in the administration of new hire orientation. Assists Generalists and other department leaders to identify training requirements of employee populations. Works with Benefits Manager, HRIS Administrator, Payroll Supervisor and Director of Human Resources to assist with implementation and maintenance of Human Resources Information System (PeopleSoft) as necessary. Serves as back-up to the Director of Human Resources as necessary. Bachelor's degree is required. 5+ years resolving employee relations matters is required. Previous HRIS (PeopleSoft) experience is helpful.
