Nurse Paralegal The candidate will primarily support attorneys with a busy defense litigation practice with an emphasis on medical negligence. Should have experience with billing and time entry, records requests and review, redaction of documents, vetting experts, conducting background searches, mediation and trial preparation. Bachelor s Degree in Nursing is required, Experience in a law firm consultant/legal department is preferred. Proficient understanding and utilization of medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, and medications is essential. Must have thorough understanding of medical condition to explain or illustrate a diagnosis. Must be proficient proofreading, redlining, and editing of documents. Must have full understanding of HIPAA compliance. Understands and complies with all other related regulatory mandates. Research, analytical, organizational and critical thinking skill is required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and knowledge and application of legal research tool is essential. Must have superior written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with court personnel, attorneys and their staff, clients, witnesses and outside vendors. Must have 5+ years experience in clinical practice.
