Los Angeles office seeks a senior tax analyst with 4+ years of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization. The candidate is responsible for acting as a lead tax specialist for the firm with regards to all domestic and international partner related matters. Assists the Director of Taxation with daily partner related responsibilities of the GSO Tax Department. Leads the process to manage the partners' worldwide individual income tax return filings. Leads the process to prepare and provide information to external tax accountants with respect to the preparation of the partners' US and international tax filings. Works to manage and coordinate the partners' worldwide tax positions. Analyzes data and prepares analysis of various tax obligations and projections for the partners. Acts as the primary contact for the partners' income tax issues and researches partner income tax questions. Researches U.S. and international tax issues using CCH, BNA, and Lexis. Collection of various annual tax forms and elections from the partners. Reviews applicable general ledger analysis and performs quality assurance procedures. Assists in maintaining the partners' tax databases and historical information used by firm management. Develops the Tax Analysts and leads them in their professional development endeavors; acts as a mentor and leads the Tax Analysts in the preparation of accurate tax returns. Ensures appropriate tax compliance with regards to various tax procedures and research projects. Coordinates with all areas of the firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures/communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs. Works to identify and complete projects on various issues when needed. Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers. Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA or working progress toward CPA is desired. Relevant experience with preparing U.S. federal and state individual income tax returns is required. Related experience with international individual and expatriate tax issues is desired. Ability to use database software, spreadsheet, and word processing software and equipment to complete analysis and reports is needed. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, specifically MS Excel is required. Extensive time using a computer including use of a PC keyboard and mouse or similar data input devices are required.
