The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for assembling and filing motions and other pleadings, preparing templates for motions and other pleadings, reviewing and editing motions and other pleadings, cite checking case law, summarizing deposition transcripts, and performing fact investigation. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate and at least two years of litigation experience, with Federal and State court experience. Additionally, they must have strong familiarity with Federal and State rules of civil procedure and local court rules and have strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading experience. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday from 9am to 6pm, and offers a competitive salary of $50,000 per year. Responsibilities * Assembling and filing motions and other pleadings (including assembling of exhibits, and other pertinent documents, including declarations) * Preparing templates for motions and other pleadings, including declarations, and discovery demands (interrogatories, requests to produce documents, etc.) * Reviewing and editing motions and other pleadings, and cite checking case law * Preparing tables of contents and tables of authorities for briefs * Pulling case law cited in briefs * Reviewing and organizing documents * Summarizing deposition transcripts * Performing fact investigation * Client intake, including interviewing potential clients * Monitoring news reports * Managing office administrative tasks * Liaise with process servers to serve defendants Qualifications * Must have a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate * At least 2 years litigation experience, with Federal and State courts experience * Strong familiarity with Federal and State rules of civil procedure and local court rules * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading experience * Motivated self-starters and team players are a plus!
