This small/mid size New York office is part of a diverse national and international regulatory, commercial, legislative, and civil and criminal litigation practice. Washington, D.C. office seeks a project coordinator-administration with 3-5 years of project management experience. The candidate works with internal and external parties to coordinate and support the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude departmental, interdepartmental, and firm-wide projects. Oversees one or more small or intermediate sized projects. Assists operational project manager with documenting changes to project scope, project schedule, and project costs. Serves as liaison between team members and functional area management requesting project. Responsible for notifying Operational Project Manager of project status and identifying issues. Provides guidance and assistance to the project management office through all project phases including concept, development, implementation and closeout. In consultation with Operational Project Manager and individual project leaders, evaluates progress and measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Participates in project discussions in order to identify and establish project deliverables and deadlines. Provides consistent and objective feedback and recommendations throughout all phases of project management. Along with department and project leads, identifies and quantifies project variances, assists with guiding and directing appropriate corrective action, and participates in the preparation of project communications to all interested parties. Acts on behalf of the Project Management department to help drive projects, timely and effectively, to completion. Plans for and coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately. Provides administrative assistance to the Operational Project Manager. B.A./B.S/ degree is required. Knowledge of database and project management software is required. Proficiency with computer and reporting skills utilizing Microsoft office products are needed.
