Associate Attorney The candidate will be responding to consumer disputes, including ones submitted through the CFPB, BBB and State Attorney General s office. Meaningful attorney review of client accounts to decide whether to proceed with legal action. Managing a contested docket which would require attending hearings, propounding and answering discovery, filing motions and negotiating settlements. Enforcing judgments via different legal means such as wage and bank garnishments and filing liens. Partnering with compliance department to evaluate, develop and implement consistent and strategically sound policies and procedures. Provide legal advice on updates in laws and regulatory requirements. Should have 1-3 years of experience handling general civil litigation matters. Admitted in New York. New Jersey license a plus. Must have general knowledge of the FDCPA, FCRA, TILA and UDAAP. Should have strong sense of honesty and ethics as an officer of the court. Bi-Lingual in Spanish, Chinese or Russian is a plus. Juris Doctorate required.
