Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Prepare excel spreadsheets. Draft deeds, Preparation of Transfer Tax Returns, Recording and e-recording, Research state and county requirements, Tax parcel map reading and research, and Ordering deeds/title reports from title companies or register of deeds. Interact and work with clients, including client meetings, and their financial advisors to complete asset transfers, beneficiary changes, and other necessary tasks needed to assist with funding our clients trusts. Independently initiate and maintain active correspondence with clients and financial institutions to obtain necessary information. Field client-related questions by email and phone concerning assets and funding. Preparation and transmittal of all necessary papers to transfer securities and financial accounts. Coordinate and prepare letters and forms to change beneficiary designations of Retirement Accounts and Life Insurance in connection with clients overall estate planning goals. Manage client matters from start to finish. Organization of workflow and establishing priorities. Organization and response to correspondence, filing, emails and telephone calls Letter writing. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate. 3+ years of professional services experience, preferably in a law firm; Financial Institution or Insurance Agency, Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, Probate and estate and trust administration, or Asset transfers/asset coordination in connection with estate and business planning practice are a plus. Should preferably have experience or familiarity with managing legal cases or client files from beginning to end; Understanding of different asset types; Asset collection, court filings, appraisals, accountings, and asset allocation agreements; Estate Planning, including revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, retirement account and life insurance beneficiary designations, and related documents; Business Planning, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, and related documents; Real property transfers, including deeds, property tax claims, and change in ownership forms; and Maintenance and organization of legal files. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook). Tracking, calendaring and follow-up skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent people skills; responsive and courteous interaction with clients.
