Attorney Development Assistant Duties: Will be an integral member of the Development Team. Working closely with the Senior Development Specialist (SDS), will be primarily focused on providing support for the firm s strategy efforts in the New York market and other office development initiatives. Provide day-to-day administrative and project management support to the SDS in support of various strategy efforts and office development initiatives. Serve as a key interface for information and coordination with other practice development team members firm-wide and with other departments including: Client Development, Marketing Communications, Events, Lateral Partner Recruiting, Office Administration, Conference Services, AV, and other departments as necessary. Assist SDS in managing strategy working groups and office development initiatives. Provide administrative support for the strategy working groups by coordinating meetings, collating appropriate materials and working with other departments to implement office goals. Responsibilities to include inputting development activities into internal tracking systems and charts. Perform competitive intelligence, basic research and data collection/tracking on clients, industries and competitors as needed. Facilitate office involvement in community and civic organizations. Facilitate and compile logistics for charitable sponsorships associated with the New York office. Assist in collecting research related to sponsorship opportunities, attendees/honorees, and any background as needed. Work with SDS, Office Managing Partners and Events team on designing office-wide events and initiatives aimed at building community, enhancing morale and establishing office identity. Provide ancillary support for strategy working groups, New York office and firm-wide events, including reviewing invitee lists, attendee lists, and drafting follow-up emails as needed; work with Client and Practice Development teams to track business development follow-up after events/programs. Update and maintain the strategy working group and New York Office email distribution lists, rosters and checklists. Assist with support of client teaming efforts and ad hoc special projects, as needed. Qualifications: An undergraduate degree. A background in business or equivalent experience is desirable. Project management and organizational skills. Ability to identify and solve problems, work independently, and take initiative. Ability to compile, review and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data and information which is varied in content and format. Strong oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong writing skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels. Ability to establish credibility with attorneys and professional staff, to bring to bear the right mix of confidence, tact and persistence in working with the firm s lawyers and professional staff.
