Attorney for Civil and Family Litigation Law Firm The candidate will lead the firm s divorces and criminal defense work load. This will require organization and diligence. Work will be conducted with minimal supervision and with the assistance of a dedicated legal assistant. He/she will also assist the firm director in the research and preparation of Complaints and Motions in high profile civil litigation cases including defamation, breach of contract actions, and heavily contested divorces with complex equitable distribution and alimony issues. Will be responsible to conduct extensive analysis of discovery material and/or evidentiary materials. He/she is expected to research facts and applicable law and prepare memos, pleadings, motions, opinion letters among other legal document. This position is for an attorney who is motivated as it is very demanding. It is not a 9 to 5 position. It requires not only skill and hard work but also a desire to learn, grow, and specially win. Tasks: factual research, legal research, review organize and analyze discovery materials and prepare summaries for firm s director, prepare discovery instruments such as request for production interrogatories request for admission subpoenas depositions, make timely objections or timely motions to compel, maintain organized virtual and paper file, Inout time entries, schedule and attend to hearings, prepare trial books or aid for evidentiary hearings, reach agreements with opposing counsel or state attorney or federal prosecutor, prepare sentencing memos, prepare profers, among various other.
