This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. The firm represents a wide range of industrial, financial and commercial enterprises, both publicly and privately held. Firm lawyers represent clients in every state as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions. The firm is organized by legal specialization: corporate, e-commerce, employee benefits, estate planning, government and regulatory affairs, health law, intellectual property, international, litigation and tax. Compliance Attorney Duties: Coordinates the Firm s identification of and compliance with various legal, regulatory, and contractual duties. Collect, organize, and store Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and engagement terms. Research and provide guidance regarding Anti Money Laundering requirements and Market Abuse Regulations. Collaborate with practice areas to provide specific information requested in the OCGs and engagement terms. Identify screening restrictions in OCGs, engagement terms, and waivers and ensure restrictions are published Firm-wide. Notify new matter billers of their specific roles and responsibilities under existing OCGs and engagement terms. Identity new matters involving Personal Health Information (PHI) and verify execution of Business Associate Agreements. Partner with Information Governance to secure electronic and paper records as required by HIPAA, OCGs, engagement terms and data holds. Identify opportunities for attorneys to increase efficiencies related to cross-functional new client intake processes. Monitor teams subject to ethical screens and update teams as necessary using screening software. Requirements: JD Degree. 1+ years' or related work experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word). Knowledge of law firm financial analysis and billing, market intelligence, and legal research software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
