Associate Attorney - Family Law The candidate Should have 1 to 2 years of family law experience. Must be able to handle uncontested cases from beginning to end with some light contested case work. Will manage cases from the start of the sales cycle to the end of the case. On a typical work week, work about 40-50 hours, and if the situation calls for additional preparation time. Should be an attorney licensed in Texas (No Probationary licenses accepted). Must have exceptional legal research, writing & communication skills. Drafting of family law pleadings (Prodoc Online/West Forms). Typing skills are always a must-have. Should have experience with consultation and closing the sale. Must have experience handling the business side of cases from initial retainers, low retainers, and balances. Should preferably have Internship in a Family Law Court. Attended the Advanced Family Law Course is desired. Should preferably have Family Law CLE hours. Clio Experience is desired. Duties: Initial Consultations for uncontested and lightly contested matters; Draft and prepare pleadings; Propound & Respond to Discovery; Creating and Preparing: Trial notebooks & Files for hearings; Corresponding with clients, potential clients, and other law firms via phones, e-mail, fax, and regular mail; Case Management - Calendaring and Audit calendar for accuracy; Preparing clients and attending court appearances; Docket Review - Present status of all cases during a weekly meeting; Lead, train, and mentor paralegals in all aspects of their duties to include assisting them as they work towards their board certification in family law. Assisting senior attorney in court and preparation for highly contested matters. Mediation, Trials & other Court duties. Duties as assigned. Perform all paralegal/law clerk functions for your cases for the first 12 months. Handle cases in all counties serviced by our firm. Bill 30 hours per week
