This boutique New York law firm has lawyers that serve institutional and industrial clients in areas such as e-commerce, intellectual property, manufacturing, utilities, labor and employment, environmental, real estate development, financial services and entrepreneurial business. Attorneys work together in a team oriented environment and receive relatively competitive salaries.
Litigation Paralegal The candidate must have working knowledge of federal and RI state court practice. Responsibilities will include all aspects of litigation file management, including, but not limited to: document review, filing, mediation and trial preparation, e-filing, drafting, requesting and responding to discovery, preparing for depositions, drafting reports and summaries, communicating with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses and court personnel, maintaining court dockets, coordinating docket activities to ensure all dates are calendared and deadlines met, and providing docket reports upon request. Should have 4-8 years of experience in litigation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be highly motivated with strong organizational skills (with emphasis on detail) and the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of insurance claims files or RI Public Utilities Commission filing process a plus. Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required. Experience with electronic databases, Relativity, Trial Director, and West Case Notebook or similar products is preferred. Bachelor's degree with a paralegal certification preferred.
