Paralegal Duties: Answer calls and respond to inquiries of potential clients and referring attorneys. Analyze, review and organize privileged documents and data from materials produced during discovery and prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery requests. Prepare and coordinate subpoenas; coordinate production of third-party records and summarize records. Coordinate case management to include docket management and calendaring, as well as service of pleadings, discovery, and subpoenas, and scheduling of depositions, mediations, and court hearings. Assist with preparation of pleadings and discovery in federal and state court matters. Trial preparation including management of trial exhibits and other trial-related assistance. Assist with filing documents in state and federal court using the e-filing systems. Cite-checking and shepardizing briefs and other pleadings and documents. Conduct Lexis and Pacer research and other research as needed. Keep abreast of developments, procedures, and rules in the courts and agencies where the office practices. Maintain attorney calendars and coordinate travel arrangements. Communicate regularly with clients, counsel and courts regarding case status, management, and needs.
Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of the law firm (paralegal) litigation experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Results-oriented and excellent time management skills. Detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and work within deadlines. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills. Knowledge of federal and state court/agency rules and f-filing procedures. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, and other office tools, including document management platforms and litigation software. Clio knowledge a plus. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team towards the common goal of excellent client service.
