Part-time Legal Assistant / Administrative Assistant The candidate will work principally with attorneys in the immigration and removal department. Will provide support to attorneys in the preparation and filing of petitions and applications with federal government agencies. Subject to the supervision of the attorney(s) responsible for the matter, legal assistant may assist in such tasks as: preparing routine correspondence, researching immigration law and procedures and case management. Will also play a significant role in gathering information from clients and assisting with immigration strategies. Will be expected to: draft and review routine legal documents; communicate verbally and in writing with outside organizations, such as government agencies and other law firms to gather information and data; utilize, create or establish procedures to be able to organize, coordinate, and retrieve documents; perform various administrative tasks as required; and perform other related duties as assigned. Should be a recent graduate with criminal justice or public administration background. Other majors will be considered. Must have excellent research, organizational, written and verbal communication skills and be bilingual Spanish.
