Bilingual Legal Secretary Duties: Scheduling client appointments; Managing Attorneys calendar judiciously; Greeting clients and helping fill out initial paperwork; Providing administrative assistance and support; Answering client questions and helping solve problems; Accepting, organizing, and managing client documents; Assisting clients with filling forms; Taking and tracking payments and managing billing; Working with clients to draft written affidavits; Drafting motions, cover letters, and compiling applications; Completing special projects or overflow work as requested by Attorney, Office Manager, or other staff. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant work experience: receptionist, billing, customer service, secretary, and/or paralegal, preferably at an immigration office. Appreciation and support of the Law Offices mission. Bilingual in Spanish and English required. In depth understanding of immigration matters, case types, and terminology. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Honest, self-motivated, reliable, and flexible. Skilled in problem solving, organization, attention to detail, and answering the phone. Poised and relaxed under stress, ability to work well with deadlines and multitasking. Capable working independently but cohesively as part of a small office team. Skilled in document, case, and file management. Knowledge of basic computer functions and features is required. Agility with Mac/Apple products, functions and features is highly beneficial. Personal initiative and an appropriate level of independence is desired. Improvement of the overall functionality and efficiency of the firm is expected.
