Plaintiff Discovery Attorney The candidate will draft Responses to written discovery requests. Interview clients in connection with drafting written discovery responses. Review and respond to correspondence and/or motions challenging the sufficiency of consumer plaintiffs' responses. Assist in preparation of consumer plaintiffs for deposition. Defend depositions of consumer plaintiffs. Take depositions of fact witnesses. Attend hearings, including demurrers and discovery motions, Review and analyze complaints/case files to incorporate legal theories into the plaintiff's discovery responses. Supervise discovery assistants in the preparation of client discovery packages. Client communication regarding discovery responses from clients. Should have the ability to explain the discovery process and clients' responsibilities in the lawsuit. Review and analyze informal discovery responses from clients. Resolve issues that may arise in a timely manner. Assume responsibility for timely reporting of hours. Assist in other tasks as assigned by the Managing Partner, Partners, Trial. A J.D. from an ABA-approved school and an active California Bar license in good standing. Should have 2+ years prior proven working experience as an attorney. Background in plaintiff's litigation, consumer protection, product liability, or complex litigation is preferred. Should be detail-oriented. Demonstrated strength in client communication is needed. Should be proficient in MS Office and the use of Attorney timekeeping programs, as well as Client file management. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; both written and verbal are needed. Decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential. Excellent organizational and leadership skills are needed. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
