Paralegal / Legal Assistant The candidate will be: Creating, maintaining, organizing, and indexing documents for case management purposes. Applying proper naming conventions to electronic documents and sorting into appropriate folders. Using scanning and OCR software to support an electronic records management workflow and operating environment. Understanding and applying the concepts of legal records retention. Occasionally performing receptionist duties, including answering/returning calls, forwarding messages, etc. Helping with other special projects as needed. Must have a Bachelor s degree or Paralegal Certificate. Experience in a professional office environment is required. Experience in a law firm is a plus. Should have excellent writing and proofreading/editing skills. High-level proficiency in MS Word with knowledge of other MS Office software, including Excel and Outlook is needed. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to work with attorneys to ascertain priorities of conflicting deadlines is required. Should have interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff. Knowledge of office policies and procedures and the ability to produce an accurate work product with minimal supervision is essential.
