Paralegal Contractor Duties: Prepare medical chronologies for cases. Legal document review. Observes the confidentiality of all clients and the Firm. Assist with matters of probate and bankruptcy. Correspond with clients on case updates. Prepare correspondence and legal documents. Work with attorneys on case status updates. Collect case evidence and documentation. E-filing in state and federal courts. Draft court pleadings of various types. Monitors case calendars and court deadlines to meet deadlines. Perform others duties as assigned. Qualifications: A high school diploma is required and an Associate's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred. 2-3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in mass tort. Document management experience preferred. Knowledge of legal terminology, research, docketing, and electronic filings is required. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to prepare medical chronologies preferred. Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with attorneys, supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, clients, and outside vendors. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are critical in addition to working well under tight deadlines. Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
