IP Legal Assistant / IP Paralegal IP Legal Assistant: The candidate work include: transcribe, edit and finalize letters, memoranda, and other legal documents; generate both trademark and patent forms for client/attorney signature and filing; manage files including opening new files, retrieving files and maintaining files according to firm protocol; review docket with attorney(s) and coordinate appropriate action as necessary; provide professional interaction with client and PTO Examiners; make travel arrangements; assist attorneys with office procedures. The IP Paralegal will: maintain and update patent and trademark data base, generate reports as needed; obtain signatures and correspond with inventors, business managers and external attorneys with respect to formal papers to be filed in the USPTO, including declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney; assist with recording change of ownership of patents and trademarks; assist with acquisition due diligence; assist with annual IP budget process and IP budget tracking; assist with reviewing/approving IP-related invoices received from outside vendors. Should have 2 years of Intellectual Property experience. Ability to learn proprietary software relating to the service group; CPI experience preferred.
