Immigration Associate Attorney The candidate represents firm onsite at one of the world s largest technology companies to support the client s mobility policies and processes for international assignments and workforce relocation. Provides international assignment/transfer coordination and ongoing assignment administration for expatriate colleagues. Advises Human Resources and Businesses on U.S. government regulations affecting visa and immigration. Provides counseling to foreign nationals at all levels on immigration policies and procedures and handling or elevating related issues (for the United States). Providing a broad range of support, including a high level of support and service to assignees, including; supporting relocation, assignment, and immigration processes for in progress applications; collaborating with the client s Immigration Team to ensure effective mobility operations and making recommendations to firm management team for continuous improvement. Serve as onsite immigration expert to client s immigration team and foreign national population. Leverages business and immigration law knowledge and experience to facilitate the visa process. Liaise with firm internal team for immigration assessments, where relevant. Provides technical escalation support and responses to client s immigration team. Forecasts immigration issues and effectively communicates solutions to firm management and client s Immigration Team. Presents business leaders and HR with meaningful analytics and immigration regulation updates and its impact to the client s immigration program and foreign nationals. Assesses and plans for regulatory changes that may influence programs and/or employees. Provides visa support to ensure highest levels of service, efficiency and compliance are delivered to the client s foreign nationals and recruitment/human resources during the life cycle of the process. Delivers well-analyzed and defined immigration and policy improvement recommendations to firm management team for discussion and presentation to the client. Trains client s internal teams on US Immigration policies and procedures as needed. Establishes trusting relationships with client immigration and mobility points of contact to develop a high-level of customer service and a support model for foreign national population. The candidate should have a JD degree from a US university or foreign equivalent. Must have US Bar license. Should have 2+ years of working in a technical role within US immigration with industry in-house immigration and mobility program experience or law firm experience. Working knowledge of all US visa types and processes essential. Experience reviewing case facts to determine the optimal filing type needed. Experience influencing decisions and articulating immigration matters to stakeholders essential. Experience analyzing situations and spotting potential issues needed. Experience working with confidential data essential. Experience handling sensitive matters needed. Experience working independently but contributing within a team environment (remote and onsite) is required.
