Litigation Legal Assistant Paralegal The candidate will serve as assistant to the trial attorney in preparing cases for trial. Aid in all trial preparation needs for the plaintiff, personal injury cases. Monitor statute of limitation dates for filing lawsuits and government claim deadlines. Prepare summons and complaints, statement of damages, applications for publication, guardian ad litem applications, etc. Put out lawsuits for service on defendants. Prepare all trial documents including trial binders. Coordinate trial testimony with the attorney. Draft and handle correspondence and e-mails. Calendar management, organizing files, and meeting with clients. The candidate must have 2-3 years of experience with preparation and filing of lawsuits, putting lawsuits out for service, and tracking statute of limitations deadlines; previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal; proficiency in G-Suite, MS Office, and Adobe, but also willing to train; filing documents with the court, bookmarking; adequate grammar and spelling skills; working under deadlines and fast-paced work environments; the ability to work under minimal supervision; knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure, principles of spelling and grammar, and have the ability to meet deadlines under time constraints. Must be working with clients.
