Associate Attorney - Environmental The candidate will join plaintiffs land use and environmental litigation firm. Will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the firms varied environmental litigation practice: site visits and investigation of potential cases; drafting and filing pleadings; conducting all phases of civil discovery, including taking/defending depositions; identifying and working with expert witnesses; drafting and arguing motions; preparing and negotiating settlement offers; preparing for and actively assisting at mediations, hearings, and trials; communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Will have the opportunity to develop excellent civil litigation skills. A J.D./law degree with a minimum of 2 years of state and/or federal litigation experience required. Experience in environmental litigation and/or tort litigation for plaintiffs is preferred. A sincere interest in and/or passion for environmental justice and protection is required. Attorneys with significantly more than 2 years of litigation experience encouraged to apply. Strong analytical, research/writing, and communication skills required. Must be a self-motivated and independent worker. Must be admitted to a bar (preferably in GA or a state in the Southeast), and willing to apply to become a member of the Georgia bar.
