Paralegal The candidate will be assisting with case planning, development and management. Collecting, compiling, analyzing and summarizing records, technical documents, and legal documents to make an independent decision and recommendation to the supervising attorney. Performing legal research and analysis. Confirming citation accuracy and format. Identifying pertinent deadlines, dates and managing accurate calendars for attorneys and other team members as needed. Identifying, compiling and preparing matter preparation materials, hearing and trial preparation materials. Drafting and formatting legal filings, legal documents, letters, formal discovery requests, notices, motions, legal memoranda, and summaries of depositions. Drafting legal compliance trainings and presentations and delivering the same over a variety of media. Researching and drafting relevant articles for posting on the firm's web site and social media outlets. Coordinating closely with technical consultants, experts, and outside vendors on projects, including review and management of consultant/expert/vendor invoices for reasonableness and accuracy. Responsibility for professional client communication on select matters. Tracking and documenting billable and nonbillable time pursuant to firm's guidelines. Performing a number of other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included in this description, but which are consistent with the general skill level of the job and the responsibilities described. Advanced experience and skill using technology and typical law firm office software, programs and computer systems, including calendaring programs, Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel, electronic legal filing platforms in state and federal court, and legal research databases. Knowledge of principles, concepts and methodology of legal proceedings and legal research. Knowledge of principles related to attorney-client relationships, duties to clients and ethical rules. Principles of legal writing. Problem identification, analysis and evaluation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of basic math skills. Proactive and solution-oriented attitude. Desire to improve, grow and willingness to accept feedback. Team-oriented attitude and commitment to taking action to help one's teammates succeed. Ability to work independently and efficiently, whether in a traditional office environment or in a remote-working environment. Close attention to detail. Excellent ability to proofread and format written documents. Associate degree or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position are required. 5 years of experience are required.
