Attorney Development Senior Coordinator Duties: Provides support to the Firms professional development function in the Los Angeles office. Works closely with the Attorney Recruiting & Development Administrator to provide support in the following areas: career development, counseling, training, mentoring, evaluations, attorney retention, diversity and inclusion, administration and related attorney development programs and activities. Manage the offices fall and lateral associate integration processes (e.g., pre-hire paperwork and reimbursements, arrival announcement emails, orientation, mentor pairings and program reminders). Maintain attorney personnel database. Primarily responsible for maintaining attorneys personnel information stored electronically. Assist with maintenance of hard copy personnel files, payroll notices, leaves of absence, and other professional personnel forms. Supervise Continuing Legal Education (CLE) activities in the Los Angeles office including in-house functions, firm webcasts, and third-party training opportunities. Work with Attorney Recruiting & Development Administrator to identify and execute training programs to address evolving associate needs and requests. Serve as the primary contact for California MCLE questions for both attorneys and staff. Provide guidance for attorneys throughout the firm with a California Bar membership. Prepare and distribute monthly bar status report. Coordinate materials and supervise the mid-year and year-end associate evaluation and review process. Assist in the planning of client events where MCLE credit will be issued. Research, plan and attend attorney social functions. Prepare departure packet and required notices for departing attorneys. Conduct attorney exit interviews when necessary. Coordinate with Attorney Recruiting & Development Administrator in planning of mentor and diversity program events. Co-manage with the Attorney Recruiting & Development Administrator the offices formal mentor program, including coordinating annual program launches, collaborating with local mentor chairs and Associates Committee, planning and coordinating periodic Mentor Program events, facilitating ongoing mentor group assignments, and creating resources to support mentor goals. Daily interaction with attorneys, secretaries and staff regarding attorney policies and procedures, expenses, billing time, etc. Monitor attorney compliance with Firm policies and procedures. Work with firm HR and Benefits personnel on administrative matters related to attorney benefits, flexible schedules, leaves of absence, disability and other leave arrangements. Attend and participate in the Junior Associate Corporate Staffing meetings. Serve as a confidential resource to attorneys and provide guidance when appropriate. Responsible for creating and distributing all payroll notices. Assist in coordinating trainings and coaching sessions with consultants. Assist the practice group leaders and attorney development partners with constructive associate feedback by collecting and organizing information regarding work performance. Monitor attorney utilization reports. Stay current and up to date with any California State Bar Minimum Continuing Legal Education updates. Manages Firm resources responsibly. Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 3 years of experience in an administrative / coordinator role, in a law firm or other professional services firm environment. Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others. Demonstrates close attention to detail. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organization, and planning skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities. Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to work well in demanding and fast-paced environment. Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team. Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment. Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.
