Legal Secretary/Assistant The candidate will support attorneys in a legal setting. Transcription. Prepare and manage correspondence. Prepare and process standard legal documents including subpoenas, motions, and pleadings. Organize and coordinate legal meetings including depositions, hearings, and witness meetings. Maintain schedules and calendars including diaries. Proofread and edit legal documents. Handle incoming mail and calls. Communicate verbally and in writing to answer inquiries and provide information. Organize delivery of legal correspondence to clients, co-defendants, applicant s attorney, and courts. Arrange hearing dates. Assist with billing entry. Implement and maintain office systems and procedures. Greet and receive visitors (Satellite offices). Coordinate travel arrangements. Operate office equipment such as photocopy machine and scanner. Receive and relay telephone messages. Prepare correspondence and stuff mail into envelopes. Arrange for outgoing mail and packages to be picked up (Satellite offices). Bend, kneel, stoop, twist at the waist, walk, and lift up to 15 lbs. Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
