Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: The candidate conducts and summarizes research using various resources. Drafts legal documents. Prepares and organizes documents for legal proceedings. Maintains properly organized paper and electronic files of legal documents. Manages litigation and investigations. Organizes files and efficiently respond to internal legal requests. Ensures that documentation requests from outside counsel, legal and regulatory authorities, and others are handled effectively and timely. Performs general office and administrative tasks (answering phone, scheduling appointments/consultations, process intake, scanning documents, making copies, etc.).
Qualifications: The candidate should have an Associate's Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Must have 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal. Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write. Extensive knowledge of legal terminology and documentation requirements. Familiarity with contracts, legal procedures, and protocols are useful. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills. Ability to organize, categorize and summarize extensive information and research. Ability to adapt to fluctuating caseload and high-pressure situations. Ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external customers and communicate effectively. Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required. Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills required. Ability to work collaboratively within a team; ability and willingness to adapt to changing business demands. Ability to produce an acceptable amount of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce a quality final work product. High level of professional integrity is required; the ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.
