Tax and Estate Planning Paralegal Duties: The candidate will be responsible for managing client cases from inception to closing. Will have direct client contact. Supporting attorneys in delivering a comprehensive estate plan for clients, including, but not limited to, maintaining accurate and detailed records of client data; Drafting estate planning documents for client, with attorney supervision (including Revocable Trusts, Wills, Advance Health Care Directives, Durable Powers of Attorney, etc.) Other documents include preparing and recording deeds and other forms; Proofreading and finalizing documents for client signature; Case management and deadline tracking; Creating client copies of relevant documents, including estate planning binders; Training new staff members on duties and procedures; Organizing large quantities of client paper and electronic documents and files; Communicating directly with clients, beneficiaries, appraisers, and asset managers by phone, e-mail, and formal written correspondence; Providing general administrative duties to support the office as needed and with client projects; and Performing other duties as assigned by the attorneys or office manager. Qualifications: High school diploma with 5+ years of estate planning experience. Experience in drafting estate planning documents, the preparation of deeds, and e-filing is required. 5+ years of estate planning experience, including: Microsoft Office Suite (2013), primarily Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat; Drafting experience, including clear and concise general correspondence and legal documents; Exemplary organizational skills, keen attention to detail, strong client service skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure; Ability to multi-task, exercise logical and proactive thinking and set priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and ability to maintain confidentially for all clients and data, which are an integral part of the position. Achieve a consistently high standard of client / team service and leadership; Be a proactive self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision; Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude in a fast paced environment; Is able to easily converse with current and potential clients and make them feel welcome, both in person and on the telephone; Demonstrates resourcefulness, flexibility, patience and care when working with our elderly clients and clients with special needs; and Most importantly, fit into our team-focused culture. Prefer Notary Public and Time Matters, Tabs, Worldox, HotDocs and/or ProDocs experience.
