This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. The firm represents a wide range of industrial, financial and commercial enterprises, both publicly and privately held. Firm lawyers represent clients in every state as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions. The firm is organized by legal specialization: corporate, e-commerce, employee benefits, estate planning, government and regulatory affairs, health law, intellectual property, international, litigation and tax. Senior Accountant, Attorney Compensation The candidate will calculate and communicate monthly Senior Counsel compensation payments to payroll. Prepare and distribute monthly schedules detailing compensation calculations to individual Senior Counsel. Analyze total Senior Counsel compensation payments and working attorney collections (WAC) against current agreements. Will maintain and organize all Senior Counsel agreement documentation and memo communications. Calculate Partner compensation changes and prepare memos to effectively communicate these updates. Communicate and verify Partner draw changes to HRIS and payroll to update systems. Reconcile retained earnings and capital general ledger accounts. Prepare and post individual Partner capital account activity memos on an annual basis. Manage and reconcile Retiree, Senior Counsel, and Partner compensation general ledger accounts and prepare annual detailed budgets. This includes, but is not limited to, working with management of the firm in preparation of budgets and preparing budget variance analyses. Process miscellaneous wires and semi-monthly foreign payroll wires. Calculate and process final payments for terminated income partners. Prepare annual journal entry to close capital partner draws to retained earnings. Manage comfort letter process for Partner capital loans. Manage annual Partner capital contribution process. Provide backup coverage on the treasury. Must have Bachelor s degree. Must have 5+ years of relevant work experience. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word). Strong written and verbal communication skills needed. Strong organizational skills needed. Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities is required. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information is required.
