Civil Litigation Paralegal The candidate's duties include: Drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses; Open, organize, and maintain files and manage case documents in firm's document management system; Electronic case filing; Processing service of process; Scheduling court reporters; Review, analyze, organize, and summarize case evidence and document productions by opposing parties; Manage attorneys calendars (hearing, depositions, etc.) and schedule meetings; Prepare documents and exhibits for hearings, depositions, and trial; Assemble event chronologies; Liaise with clients to obtain materials and evidence needed to litigate case or respond to discovery requests; Preparation of document production, including bates stamping, redactions, delivery, and filing. Review file for outstanding discovery in preparation for court appearances, pleadings, depositions and trial preparation. Monitor deadlines. Manage assignments from multiple attorneys, including attorneys from other P / M office locations. Bachelor's Degree required. Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program required. 3+ years experience as a litigation paralegal required. Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail required. Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to problem solve required. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize tasks for multiple attorneys, and manage a variety of tasks daily. Must be able to follow and implement work processes. Must have experience with pretrial discovery, motions drafting, organizing and summarizing evidence, hearing and trial preparations, and managing court deadlines. High proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Should have prior paralegal litigation experience; complex commercial litigation experience is a plus. Will support and contribute to the efficient operation and administration of Pierce / McCoy's Civil Litigation team.
