Paralegal The candidate will manage and work on various firm active cases, co-counsel relationships, and deadlines. Prepare, file, and maintain pleadings and litigation support documents in case management software. Manage litigation and case deadlines, tasks, and calendars in case management software. Draft and/or proofread case-related documents, discovery, and correspondence. Interact with clients on case-specific matters. Ensure regular meetings and communications with the Co-Counsel. Update and Manage DSS and Firm Calendar. Obtain, File and Manage Case Documents. Update and Manage Firm Contacts. Update and Manage Case Related Emails. Manage Potential New Client Intakes. Help Manage Firm Co-Counsel Relationships. Help Manage Firm Referral Relationships. Open New Matters and request Necessary Documents, Records, and Bills. Help Draft and/or respond Discovery. Help Draft and/or edit Pleadings. Help Update and Manage Case Expenses. Attend and take notes during case-related meetings with clients, co-counsel, and third parties. The candidate should have an Associate's Degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal, Criminal Justice, or related course of study or Paralegal Certificate. Should have 5 years experience working in Law Firms. Should experience working on large, high profile matters and experience working for busy and high energy attorneys. Should have experience working in a law office and are familiar with processes related to cases. Should be passionate about racial, social, and economic equity, passionate about ensuring respect, justice, and equality for everyone regardless of race, social status, gender, sexual orientation, or religion, meticulous and have strong attention to detail, a strong communicator and easily build rapport over the phone, team-oriented and like working together with others to accomplish goals. Should have strong time management skills. Should have organized and not intimidated by (sometimes lengthy) to-do lists, deadlines, and relationships. Should be task-oriented, but can get stuff done even without all the information at the start. Should enjoy a challenging, growing, and very fast-paced work environment. Should deal positively with obstacles and failures in pursuit of challenging goals. Should be able to accept constructive feedback from coworkers about working or personal style. Should be a highly motivated, self-starter who enjoys learning does so quickly and enjoys solving problems. Should learn new things on a computer daily and are fluent in MS Office 365, social media platforms and working in an internet browser.
